Week 7 Panthers @ Bengal's W 17-14 |
| After
a 2 game losing streak, the Bengal's still found themselves with the
opportunity to tie the Baltimore Ravens for first place in the
AFC North. After the first quarter of Sundays game, the Bengal's
looked more likely to make it a 3 game loosing streak vs. joining
the Ravens for first place. On this Sunday however, the Bengal's showed
heart and guts to come back from a 14-7 deficit scoring 10 straight
points to win 17-14. |
This win against the Panthers was one that truly impressed me and
contributes to my belief that this is a football team is destined
for the Super Bowl. I did not feel we really opened up the offense
like I hoped, partially due to Carson being hurried often, but we
did when it counted most. Fourth quarter, around 8:32 left, the Bengal's
took a Gamble on 4th and 1 on there own 35 yard line when Carson Palmer
chucked a 32 yard completion to Chad Johnson past the outstretched
arms Carolina's Chris Gamble.
On defense the Bengal's where a pleasant surprise to me this week.
Allowing only 60 rushing yards, 277 total yards, and getting 1 HUGE
interception when safety Kevin Kaesviharn leaped in front of Panthers
wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson in the back of the end zone for an
interception with 3:50 left on a third-and-10 play that prevented
the Panthers from trying a tying field goal. |

Chad Johnson makes
a catch when it matters the most. On 4th down and 1, he catches this
pass for a 32 yard completion. Get hype, Who Dey! |
| The
Bengal's came together as a team Sunday and showed allot of heart.
Big props to the whole team. We have allot of players injured on both
offense and defense, but we are still playing football in The Jungle!
Game Note:
The Bengal's are 14-0 when running back Rudi Johnson carries at
least 25 times. Today Rudi Johnson had 26 rushes for 101 yards.
This came against a Carolina defense that hadn't’t allowed
100 yards rushing in the previous four games. |
