| The
road doesn't get any easier Thursday night when the AFC North-leading
Baltimore Ravens visit Paul Brown Stadium in a key game for Cincinnati's
playoff hopes. "It's
our chance to get back in our division race, and to keep control
of our own destiny for the playoffs," said Lewis. "It's
a short week and a tough assignment, but we've planned for it. We've
done everything we can to make sure we'll have plenty of gas left
in our tank."
If the Bengal's
can beat the Ravens and climb to within two games, they will be
4-1 in AFC North Division play, with Baltimore at 3-1. Division
record is the first tiebreaker if two teams split their season series
and tie for the division lead. Baltimore has two division games
remaining after this week's game, on Dec. 17 vs. Cleveland and on
Dec. 24 at Pittsburgh. The Bengal's will have only one division
game left, on Dec. 31 vs. Pittsburgh.
Pre game thoughts: We find ourselves 3 games back from the
Ravens with 5 left to play. The division seems to be a bit much
to expect to win at this point, but it is still possible with allot
of help. All we need to do is qualify for a wild card playoff spot
to keep the hope alive for a shot to go to Miami for the Super Bowl.
In my eyes, we have 3 very tough games, (@indy, @denver, Baltimore)
and do not count out the Steelers the last game of the season at
Cincy, that is not automatic even though the Steelers have underachieved.
We can only loose 1 more game to make the playoffs unless KC, Jacksonville,
NY Jets, and Denver struggle. Bottom line, it looks like we are
as ready to play the Ravens as we will ever be. But, keep in mind,
the Ravens just beat the Steelers 27-0, they are ready to. They
have a shutdown defense, I am not sold we do. We have much more
fire on offense. This will be a great football game. It will be
a dog fight as Willie Anderson says. We lost last time against the
Baltimore Ravens 26-20, this is our turn. The Ravens have won 5
in a row, they are due a loss. With that said, my prediction is;
Bengal's 31 - Ravens 24
Outcome: This was the best game of the season for me personally.
I was truly impressed with the NFL network, I honestly felt like
I was at the game with all the Pre game coverage.
Bottom line this was a must win for the Bengal's We came out and
handled business very impressively in primetimes. The Jungle was
rocking, and Carson Palmer had time to make some plays. Rudi Johnson
did not get off, but our superior defense on this day allowed for
that to not be a issue. Overall, it is like I said, this team has
some heart. To begin the season we all knew we got dealt a bad hand
with one of the toughest schedules in the NFL. Injuries to many
players have not helped. But, this team wants to goto Miami this
year to play in the Super Bowl. Big ups to the Bengal's this week.
I know we are a better team than the Ravens, and all I have to say
is who honestly wants to go toe to toe with this Bengal's team healthy
in the playoffs? I sure would not! Watch out, we are getting 3 starters
back in the lineup next week against the Oakland Raiders. I do not
mean to look ahead, but assuming the Bengal's win against the Raiders,
we will be going to play at the Colts in primetimes. once again
on Monday night football. Can I get a big Who Dey? 7-5 is not exactly
the best, but, all we need is a ticket to the NFL playoffs and a
healthy team a Cincinnati will be on point. |
